The Children’s Aid Society - New York City Department of Education Community Schools Celebrate 25 Years!

New York, NY – This year our agency celebrates the 25th anniversary of the opening of the first Children’s Aid -New York City Department of Education community school—Intermediate School 218 (now the Salomé Ureña de Henriquez Campus). As we reflect on this milestone, we make the case for optimism, rooted in two and a half decades of supporting and strengthening public education, one of the pillars of democracy, and of fighting poverty by providing opportunities not only to the thousands of children and youth that have attended Children’s Aid community schools but to their families as well.
